Cieszyn Silesia as a Euroregion started a rebranding process in the summer of 2017. The region with the center of the Polish city Cieszyn and its Czech counterpart, Cesky Tesín is rich in history, natural beauty and culture.
The town, so as the entire region is cut in half by the river Olza. This natural element through the centuries served as a connection between the two sides, but in the 20th century it became a border. A border what caused national and personal tragedies, changing the face of history. It separated. It set apart. But in the beginning of the 21st century it again became a bridge between the two countries. It connects. It makes ties. Family ties, freindships, cultural relationships and a lot more.
Cieszyn Silesia as a region consolidated in the 19th century, as a discrete eastern part of the Austrian Silesia province of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which helped to form a distinct local identity based on language, religious and ethnic pluralism, and distinctiveness from other parts of Silesia.
The locals call themselves 'stela', they were born and raised here, their roots are in the region and they are keeping their dialect, their folklore, art and lifestyle alive, generation after generation.
This heritage and historical value inspired the logo concepts.
