First there was snow. Then it came dirt. Now it is asphalt. The American, Spokane, WA-based powersports clothing and gear manufacturer, 509 stepped into uncharted territory when decided to enter the motorcycle-wear market. What they had was a strong status in off-road biking, the undisputed dominance in snowmobiling, and groundbreaking technologies in the outerwear, helmet and goggle product segment. 509's innovative team needed a profile tailored to their audience, namely bikers, various market-entry campaigns and a distinctive brand identity to successfully conquer this terrain of business.
We had the opportunity to prove there is space for out-of-the-box ideas and unorthodox visual solutions in the motorcycling world. Tasked to help the brand communicate their market-shifting perspective, coming from a different world of powersports, we went all-in with art direction combining state-of-the-art photography, hand-drawn typography and various techniques of collage.
Based on 509 brand principles, we created various layouts to support rider storytelling through their gears and road experiences. We also built in customer and tester feedback to this magazine-like product catalogue.
In the garage, on the go, or at a stunning viewpoint. We did our best to bring back riding memories. From adrenaline-fuelled road trips, laidback chilling with fellow bikers or just joyful days at the workshop. Regardless where these moments happened, always worth to remember them.
